UK fails to pass on details of 75,000 convictions of foreign criminals to home EU countries

An error with the police national computer meant that EU countries were not told about the crimes – the UK were then accused of covering up the mistake because of embarassment. It means dangerous criminals could have returned to their home countries without the local authorities knowing of their crimes
